Let's check out some easy Winter Preschool Crafts here!
Coffee Filter Snowflakes -
Water down some blue tempera paint and use this to paint so that each preschooler can paint his or her own coffee filter. After the filters have a chance to dry, fold in half twice. Have the kids cut their own designs out of the coffee filter, unfold, and the snowflakes are ready for hanging.
Glitter Paper Plate Snowflakes -
Use doilies and lightly tape them to paper plates. Let the kids use paintbrushes to paint the doilies with blue tempera paint. Remove the doily while the paint is still wet and sprinkle glitter over the paper plate's design. You can leave these alone and hang this way or cut the designs out of the paper plates. Nice preschool winter activity!
Dough Snowman -
This is actually no-cook modeling dough. Mix together 2 cups of flour, 1 cup salt, water and 2T vegetable oil if you don't want the dough to harden. Let the kids roll the dough into balls for each section of the snowman. You can use twigs for the arms and material of your choosing for the face and hat.
Shaving Cream Snowmen -
For the shaving cream material combine two parts shaving cream to one part glue and mix until it looks glossy. The best background for this preschool winter crafts is black construction paper. Have the kids dip their fingers into the mixture to create a snowman on the paper. Food coloring can be added to the mix for variety if you wish.
Footprint Snowmen -
Use a paper plate and squirt a little washable white paint into it. Make sure to spread it around a little; we don't want the paint in one centralized location. Take the preschoolers' feet and place into the paint and then onto blue construction paper. One the footprint has dried let the kids use black and orange markers or construction paper to cut out the hat, nose, and so on for their snowman.
Ice Cube Painting -
Prepare different colored ice cubes with food coloring and insert craft sticks into the cubes. Once frozen, pull out the ice cubes and let the kids hold them by the sticks while painting on textured paper their own winter scene. Perhaps you can also introduce some winter science together with winter preschool crafts like these.
Snow Painting -
Mix powdered or liquid tempura paint in squirt bottles so that the paint is a bit runny or watery. Take the class of preschoolers outside into the snow. Let them play and create their own snow sculptures and use the spray bottle mixtures to paint their Winter Preschool Crafts creations. You can also include the theme "dressing for winter" preschool activities here.
Snowflake Headbands -
Decorate with stamps, stickers or crayons a 3" wide, long strip of paper. Have the children cut up some white doilies to glue onto the strip. You can attach the headband by tape or glue to the kids' heads.
Winter Hats -
Draw a stocking cap template onto construction paper for each preschooler in the room. Have the kids decorate the stocking caps as the desire. You can let them paste cotton balls on for the tassels.
Gingerbread Man and/or Village -
You can pre-bake the gingerbread men or the elements of the village beforehand if you like. Provide the kids with sprinkles, icing and other add-ons if you prefer and let them create their own men. In regards to the village, the can work as a team to create their own town.
