Spring is a time of newness and rebirth. The grayness of the winter breaks into the rainbows and flowers of springtime. Animals come out of hibernation and give birth to young ones.

Flowers bring about smiles on the kids, birds and bees. Spring preschool activities can reflect these joyous occasions and bring sunshine to their hearts. So shall we start?

Spring Coloring Pages -

Have the kids add their colorful ideas to complement nature's release of color. Kid's Coloring Pages can be found to encompass many different fields including flowers, kites, leaves, rainbows, water cycles, birds, animals, pets, and butterflies.

Spring holidays such as Easter, Earth Day and Arbor Day also have their own set of coloring pages.

Bird House Project -

Birds of the air fascinate children. They love to pretend like the can fly themselves. Offer the preschoolers an opportunity to make a paper birdhouse.

You'll need to print out a template that you think the kids would like to color. Cut out the pieces of the template if you have kids that are too young to use scissors and then glue the birdhouses together.

There also options available where gluing is not necessary. This is just one of the spring crafts for kids that you can try.

Flower Power -

When it comes to the blooming flowers, there is a variety of effective preschool activities of which you may partake.

You can make "pressed flower" crafts, outdoor flower drawing session or even a trip to a blooming nursery would be awesome!

How about some flower print projects or you can also make interesting garlands with leaves and flowers, just like the Hawaiian Leis.

Gardening -

Gardens are another way of getting the preschoolers directly involved with springtime. While planting a garden you can take the opportunity of teaching the kids the colors of the rainbow by growing flowers of varying hues in a plot of land.

Alternatively you can have the kids plant a seed in a cup of soil and watch it grow or perhaps some starter plants in window pots or window boxes. How about sprouting some beans? Not only can they learn about colors, but also you can teach them a plant's life cycle and weather while you're at it.

Valentine's Day Preschool Activities for Spring -

Saint Valentine's Day is in the springtime and you can do a few preschool spring activities surrounding this holiday. The letter "H" represents home and hearts so you can tie in the hearts with family and home.

You can produce bookmarks by coloring homes and hearts on them. You can either print out a template or let the kids put the bookmarks together freehand.

Kite Flying -

One of the best preschool activities for spring is kite flying. You can read the kids Spot's Windy Day and Other Stories that is available on the Internet for download.

Discuss the characters, story and weather. Discuss how the wind helps the kite stay afloat and the shapes of a kite.

Next help the kids make their own kites.

Butterfly -
