Cool Rhinoceros Preschool Activities

So are you looking for some rhinoceros preschool activities? There are five species of rhinos, most of which are on the extinction list.

It can be important to teach children about this animal.

Did you know that Rhinoceros horn is made of keratin, the same substance as human hair and nails?

Perhaps we can influence them to protect them in the future.

Here are some rhinoceros preschool activities that you can perform to help the preschoolers learn more about the rhinoceros, and it is great for any environment theme preschool activities as well.

Paper Craft -

Get out the paper and glue for this one!

Print out a template of a rhino and let the kids color as desired. Cut out head, horns and legs for the kids to glue on. Assemble your rhinos. You can also include paper crafts for other african animals preschool activities.

Interactive Websites -

The National Geographic website for children (kids.nationalgeographic.com) has a really wonderful interactive rhinoceros preschool activities for the small ones to learn all kinds of things about the rhinoceros.

Action Toys -

There are replicas of rhinos available for sale at toy stores. You can bring these into your home or classroom for fun and games with the preschoolers. Some toys are not suitable for children under three, however, due to choke hazards with some parts.

Coloring Pages -

Let the children have a ball as they color their own little rhinos on a coloring page.

Rhino Rampage -

This is a game from Mattel that has the children trying to put as many birds on top of the rhino as they can. This game is available at toy stores and online.

A Safari Ride -

You can take the children on a "safari ride". Get an appliance box or boxes and carve them into cars for the safari. Have some safari type hats the kids can where, binoculars and cameras. Maybe even bring in some fake trees if you wish to decorate the room like a jungle.

Preschoolers love to color and play, teach them a little about different animals that live in the jungle and what types of food do they eat. Try to include other jungle preschool activities as well.

Maybe provide them with some coloring pages, photographs or puzzles. Show them what a jungle and rhinos look like.

Explain why they live there in the jungle and why they live the way they do. Great idea for safari preschool activities too!

Zoo Trip -

Take the preschoolers on an outing to the zoo.

You can take them by the rhinoceros habitat so that they can see first hand the size of these guys.

Get creative ! Preschoolers love to color, paint, play, and learn. If you have fun mixed with a good hardy lesson, there isn't much that can go wrong with your preschool activities on rhinoceros.
