Here comes simple Preschool Summer Crafts...
Painting with Kool-Aid -
Give each child an opened package of Kool-Aid drink mix. Allow them to sprinkle the substance on a piece of paper. Using a wet paintbrush, have them draw a design in the Kool-Aid. The dusty material will turn into liquid-like paint.
Summer Collage -
Distribute a few summer issues of popular magazines. Allow the children to cut out pictures that reflect what they like most about summer. Home and garden related magazines work best. Have the children glue their pictures onto construction paper or a poster board.
Sunflowers -
Squeeze a bit of yellow paint into a paper plate. Have each child place the palm of his hand into the plate. The child should then place his hand around a clean paper plate until most of the plate is covered. Each child should then dip his thumb into brown paint and apply it to the center of the sunflower. Glue a green pipe cleaner to the back of the plate to create the stem.
Squiggle Sand Designs -
Sprinkle different colors of sand on the glue. Allow the glue to dry overnight. The following day, you can peel the design from the paper. The craft can then be hung on the wall.
Paper Ice Cream Cones summer crafts for kids -
Spread out various colors of construction paper that can be used to represent popular ice cream flavors. Be sure to have white (vanilla), brown (chocolate), and pink (strawberry). Also provide yellow for the ice cream cone. Have the children cut out circles of the construction paper to represent the different scoops of ice cream. Glue these together in a chain to make them look as they would appear stacked on a cone. Draw and cut a ice cream cone from the yellow paper. Glue it to the bottom of the ice cream stack. Have real food sprinkles or glitter handy so the children can decorate their ice cream cones.
Mess-free Splatter Painting -
Hang a large piece of paper on an outdoor fence. Give the children paintbrushes. Squeeze small amount of various colors of tempera paint into paper plants. Allow the children to dip their brushes and splatter the paint on the canvas. These types of outdoor Preschool Summer Crafts will be of great fun!
Apple Star Painting -
The seeds in the center will be in the shape of the star. Remove the seeds and give apple pieces to the children. Allow them to dip the apples in paint, and apply them to clean sheets of paper.
Clear Lid Sun Catcher - Collect the clear lids from various containers, including oatmeal and coffee cans. Tear up small pieces of various colored tissue paper. Allow the children to glue the pieces of paper to each side of the lid. Poke a hole in the top of the lid so that a string can be threaded through. If the children had rather paint their sun catchers, mix different colored batches of corn syrup and food coloring.
The children can paint these combinations onto the clear lid. Once dry, attach a string to hang the sun catcher. Awesome Preschool Summer Crafts!
Happy Handprint Suns -
Have the children dip the palms of their hands into yellow paint. Press down on a sheet of white paper or a white paper plate. Continue making handprints until you have created a complete circle. Paint the inside of the circle with a paintbrush. Have the children draw a happy face on the center of the sun.
Fireworks display -
