Lookign for some awesome Preschool Halloween Games? Creepy and spooky, hideous and hilarious... these are the things with which Halloween is celebrated. Traditions long since played with origins long since forgotten. Come on, I mean really, who can resist dressing up to play all day as someone else? Preschool Halloween games can be really fun for the little preschoolers. Below are some good preschool activities for halloween, while keeping the scary stuff out of the equation.
The Monster Dance - Grab your stereo and CD and throw on this cute little song. Clear the room away so the wee ones have room to dance about freely. Add some spice to the dance and yell "freeze" when turning off the music. Whoever doesn't freeze is out of the game and sits down.
Bobbing for Apples - This is a time-tested game of fun for the whole family! Snag some apples and put them into a huge pot or into a small wading pool filled with water. Keep the kids' hands tied behind their backs while they try to bob for the apples.
YOUR STORIES Were you flying kites?
Are You My Mummy? - Toilet paper and streamers will be needed for this game. Divide the kids into small groups of three or four each. Within each group the kids should pick a mummy. Yell "Go!" and the kids should start wrapping the mummy as fast as they can with the toilet paper and streamers. Whichever team fully covers their mummy first wins the game.
Classroom Trick or Treating - Take the kids trick or treating in costume from classroom to classroom.
Jack O'Lanterns - Cut out large pumpkin shapes from orange felt and glue them to pieces of cardboard or chipboard. Out of black felt cut different small shapes that the children can glue onto the pumpkins to form the Jack O'Lantern faces. This is a great way to teach shapes to the preschoolers!
Pumpkin Seeds Count - Have the kids guess how many seeds might be inside the pumpkins before you have carved them out. Save the seeds and clean them off. Now have the preschoolers count them out to see who was the closest.
How Pumpkins Grow - On index sized cards draw different pictures (or glue clipart) indicating each stage of development from the seed in the dirt to full grown pumpkins. Mix up the cards and pass them out to the children to see if they know the correct sequence of growth.
Pin the Tail on the Black Cat - A variation of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey".
Who You Gonna Call? - Tubes from paper towel rolls will be your ghost callers. (Alternately you can roll construction paper up into tubes.) Give a ghost caller to each child. Hide two ghosts in the room with the kids' eyes closed. Say "1-2-3 Ghost!" and the ghost hunt begins. As the kids find the ghosts, they become the callers by making ghosts noises in the tubes. Let everyone have a chance to call. This can be a great outdoor Halloween preschool activities.
Pass the Pumpkin - Fill a plastic pumpkin with crayons and have the kids sit in a circle. Pass the pumpkin around while playing music. When you stop the music whoever is holding the pumpkin should pull out the crayon. Have the preschooler name the color and put it in the middle of the circle. You can then draw Halloween pictures once everyone's had a turn. This is can be one of your preschool activities for Halloween party!
