Preschool alphabet..the fuss free way..

It can be a fun and rewarding experience for teachers or parents to teach preschool children the alphabet.

Just make sure that you do everything in a relaxed manner. (I'm sure you know that already)

Kids at the age of 3-5 are naturally curious and interested in learning, making this an ideal time to start. However, they will also require more breaks and a less structured learning environment. preschool alphabet

At preschool age, even a 10 to 15 minute alphabet lesson is good. Just go with the flow, you can keep some flash cards with you always in the bag, and use it whenever you can. Try using it when you wait for your turn at the cashier!

You might want to start with phonetic awareness to stimulate preschooler's interest in learning the alphabet. In this method, they gradually become aware of the sounds that each letter of the alphabet makes.

Using common objects will help children learn to recognize how these sounds repeat, say a sound to the child and have them repeat it back to you.

Use letter worksheets to teach the sound of an individual letter.

After writing out the letter on the child's worksheet and helping them trace one or two examples, have them write or trace the letter 5 or 10 more times. Be gentle :) Click here to read more on alphabet preschool activities. These abc preschool activities will definitely be a hit!

Alphabet flashcards are also a great way of learning the difference between lower case and capital letters.

You can also make learning more fun by getting a Kindle version of an alphabet book like "First Alphabet".

Keep praising them and congratulate them when they correctly repeat a sound or identify a letter. Offer colorful stickers or any other small tokens for meeting certain goals, such as learning to spell their own name.

Alphabet games are a great way for preschoolers to pick up on the alphabet without even knowing they are learning.A word search for their name and alphabet Tic Tac Toe are only a few examples.

To allow slower learners to progress before moving on to each letter, you can designate a letter or several as the theme for the week. During that week, objects that start with that letter should be on display. You can do crafts, read books and complete worksheets that only focus on that letter.
