Young students love this activity! Find a clear corner of the classroom and use brown paper and chairs as props to create your own bat cave.

You can hang paper bats inside for a more realistic look. Take the students inside the cave to sit in the dark as if they are bats.

Use a brown paper bag to let students create an owl. The bag remains closed. The flap of the bottom of the bag is the owl's head.

Cut out wings, feet, and a beak for the students to glue onto the owl. You can use circle eyes or an even cuter project uses cupcake liners for eyes.

Eat an Owl Snack -

Create your very own edible owl by using a piece of round bologna for the head. Cut three triangles out of cheese for the two ears and the beak.

Round crackers make the eyes. You can add an olive slice in the middle of the eye if desired.

Bat Hand Prints -

All preschool children love to paint. Have the students paint a small paper plate black. Paint each child's hands black. Press them down on a piece of white paper.

Allow them to dry and then cut them out. Glue the handprints to the sides of the plate to create bat wings. Add wiggly eyes to the plate for the bat's eyes.

Night or Day Animal Sort -

Create a sheet of paper halved vertically in the middle. On one half, have the children color it black and add white dots of paint for stars.
