How to Choose a Kid's Backpack?

So are you looking for a kid's backpack? When your child turns three, the time is right to get them a backpack. Kid's backpacks or toddler backpacks in this case ,are specifically for that age when your children have decided they can help you carry their stuff, or better yet, take them all by themselves. And they'll definitely need a backpack when it's time to go to preschool - all the other kid's in the classroom have their own backpack already. Now, that may seem as easy as buying them their first pair of pants, but there are more things to take into consideration when buying your child their first backpack.

Of course, the first consideration you may think of is what would your child like? Preschool backpacks come in many varieties and your child might choose form over function. However, this is just like buying a car just because it's red and shiny. You know what I mean right? Preschoolers are notorious for damage and destruction and preschool backpacks are always an immediate casualty. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands that are pretty, loud, colorful and fun, with many designs and colors to choose from. More and more companies are making their backpacks not just pretty and fun but functional and sturdy, as well. Sturdy and strong enough for those destructive three-year-olds, but pretty enough for them to remember which one is theirs when it's time to go home. Also consider what size your preschooler has grown to, as you can't have them toting a tiny backpack if they look like they're 6, or dwarf them with a backpack they may never grow into. This has more to do with comfort than style, and a large kid's backpack is too much weight for any little kid to carry. Do consider this point, because they are at the age where they are old enough to carry their own backpacks, but too young to take care of them properly. Your child may love hand woven backpacks that come in shapes of animal heads, smiling giraffes, tigers, dogs, cats, and whole ladybugs and butterflies, or the fleece backpacks which are just like their favorite stuffed toy with an additional function.
The best material for preschool backpacks is acrylic coated fabrics, particularly cotton. Some brands specialize in eco-friendly kid's backpacks while maintaining whimsical designs that children will love. These backpacks are usually water resistant, but can also benefit from a run in the washing machine. Vinyl backpacks are also great for preschoolers, but must be aired regularly to prevent mold and mildew from growing within. This is a consideration especially if your toddler brings a lot of snacks and drinks around in his pack, or if swimming, camping and other sports involving water are in your child's daily agenda. Matching the backpack to their itinerary of the day will help maintain the longevity of your child's backpack.
Letting them know that they can lose these things that belong to them if they're not careful makes a backpack a good learning tool. That it's gorgeous, colorful and stylish as well, helps make the learning fun.

There are all sorts of preschool backpacks out there:
The great thing about getting your child a backpack is, aside from having a nifty satchel to keep their
stuff when traveling about, they are introduced to independence and responsibility – something that they can call their own,
that will hold things that they can call their own.
