|
|||||||
Looking for some First Day Preschool Activities? The first day school preschool activities can be both fun and exciting, as well as scary and nerve-wracking. This happens not only with the preschoolers, but the parents too. What better way to get the kids started, then to have some fun activities for them to do on their first day!
Cakes - School Bus Cakes can be made by cutting a small rectangle from an end of a Twinkie to make it look like a bus. Spread yellow frosting on the Twinkies and add gummy lifesavers to act as the wheels.
Classroom Rules - Classroom rules can be shared on first day of preschool activities. With two puppets (one to be good and one to be evil) teach the rules. Have the puppets talk to each other about different choices (i.e. Playing with each other, bullying, etc.). With each role-play, stop and have the kids tell you if the puppets are making good or bad choices.
Introduction Song - First day preschool activities should also include some simple songs. This can be sung to "Mary Had A Little Lamb". Look who came to school today, school today, school today. Look who came to school today, ___________ did! The preschooler that's named can get up and dance around as kids clap, repeating for each child in the classroom.
Friendship Flower - When the kids meet each other, have them place their handprints onto a friend's paper. Have them sign their papers as they add a stem to the handprint to look like a flower. Great first day preschool activities!
Play School - Have the kids pretend they're the teachers and see what they can teach you!
Parent-Child Breakfast - To ease them into the school day, have the preschoolers eat breakfast with their parents at school.
Tours - Take the kids and parents on a tour of the classroom and school, pointing out places of interest as part of the first day preschool activities.
Drawing Skills - Have the parents and preschoolers show off their talents as they draw pictures of each other.
Wall Mural - Take some butcher paper and have the kids create designs on this paper that will be hung on the wall.
Nametags - Either for each child, their desks, or both. Have the kids make their own nametags to be one or shown off on their desks so they can learn who each other is.
You'll have those butterflies quelled in no time! Now - enjoy the rest of the year!
