Great Ideas for a Dinosaur Birthday Party

Looking for some dinosaur birthday party ideas?

There is an overabundance of ideas out there for preschooler parties.

The dinosaur birthday party will be great for your little explorer and paleontologist!

You got to think outside the box and "cave" and imagine yourself on a dig, or living with the dinosaurs. Lets get all the decorations, favors, and games to be centered about your subject.

Here are some cool dinosaur party ideas:

Printables

Preschoolers love to show you that they can figure out puzzles and color really well.

Use some dinosaur coloring pages of different types of dinosaurs or some mazes so they can show how smart they are and have fun doing it!

Cryptograms, word searches and dot-to-dot pages can also thrill the little ones as either a prize or something to keep them busy.

Decorations

Now, it would be a pretty lame thing to throw a dinosaur theme party and put princess decorations up.

Keep with the plan!

Your preschoolers will just love to play dress-up as a caveman or a dinosaur. You may even want to draw some dinosaur footprints leading up to your door.

Throw some dinosaur-sized eggs and fake bones into your sandbox so the kids can go on a dig.

Big rocks, ferns, volcanoes and toy dinosaurs can be littered throughout the party area. Posters and pinatas can be a fun little touch, too.

Depending on how many children are at your party, you may want to go big or small with the games.

As mentioned before, you could go on a dig in your backyard, but there are limitless ideas.

Playdough dinosaurs are fun and easy to make.

Have the kids first draw their dinosaurs, then place a plastic dinosaur in the middle of the table(s).

As the children look on to their drawn creations, have them pick different colored playdough for their own molded dinosaur.

Dinosaur egg hunts will keep them guessing! Hide a bunch of eggs around for the kids to find.

Dinosaur story telling can be brought to life as the kids add in their two cents worth. Take a bag of dinosaur figures and sit in a circle with the children.

Take a dinosaur out of the bag and start an invented story.

Pass the bag of dinosaurs to the next kid and have them take a dinosaur out and add on to the story.

Continue until all the children have had a chance to have thrown their own imaginations into the story.
