Let's "Miaaaawwww" for some easy cat preschool activities!
Cat Wreath - The cat wreath is relatively easy to do. On old cardboard trace a larger paper plate and then a smaller one within the large circle. The cardboard can be purchased or just use some old cereal boxes or similar. Cut the circles out and add on the back a strip of cardboard to reinforce the ring. Let the kids decorate the wreath as they like. After that a template of the kitty cat can be glued on the wreath. Add a red-heart to it, and these can be done around Valentine's Day to give away as a heartfelt gift.
Cat Craft -
By show and tell method demonstrate how to assemble the cat. Glue the grey ears a little tilted at the top of the large circle that should be the head and glue the pink ears into the grey. A half circle should be glued on to use as the mouth and two larger circles for the eyes. The eyes can be filled with a smaller black for the pupils. Use an upside down triangle for the nose and the kids can draw on whiskers. The tail is made of several concentric circles glued outwards away from the body to each other. Two more circles at the bottom of the body which should previously have been glued to the head for the feet and the kids can draw on the lines to make different toes. Easy preschool activities on cats!
Coloring Pages -
Have them try to draw their own if you wish.
Printables - Printables are what they sound like, something you print out for the children to do cat preschool activities with. Bookmarks can be printed and colored. Certain cat greeting cards can be created to be handed out just to tell someone the kids are thinking of them or for some special occasion. Cat themed doorknob hangers are another fun thing to put together. The templates allow children to color in the cats and then they can write whatever message they want to on them.
Story Time - Stories that can be read include Aesop's The Cat and the Fox or any Cat in the Hat book. Some of the nursery rhymes are Owl and the Pussycat and Pussycat, Pussycat, Where Have You Been? Great for preschool activities about house pets as well!
Songs - How about some songs based around cat themes for your cat preschool activities? Whichever cat in the cat family, can be sung. Songs such as selections from The Lion King or The Lion Sleeps Tonight could be fun. Really easy free preschool activities on pets!
Puzzles - You can easily include various puzzles or mazes as part of your preschool activities theme on cats.
Face Painting - How about a face painting session? You can always have a cat themed picnic/party where everyone gets to come as their favourite cat!
