How about some camping preschool activities? Camping gives campers of all ages a sense of adventure and a deeper appreciation for nature. Ever notice how much your child enjoys being outdoors? The outside world offers something outside of the norm to stimulate them. Whether you want to take your preschooler along for a real family camping trip, camp in your backyard or create an indoor camp out, these ten activities will help make their first camping experience a fun, exciting and educational one.
1 Introduce Camping to Your Preschooler - Begin introducing your child to free camping preschool activities through related books and DVDs. This will get them excited about the upcoming fun. Need some suggestions on preschool appropriate camping books and DVDs? Titles such as Maisy Goes Camping
2 Create a Camp - If you opt to camp out in your own backyard you won't have to create the atmosphere, as starry skies will be provided. You may also use a real tent, or make one by throwing a long heavy sheet over a low clothesline and securing it by placing large rocks on either side. If you are camping out inside you can create the entire scenario. Bring sleeping bags and make a fort style tent out of tables and chairs draped in blankets. Your preschooler will have a blast going in and out of these.
3 Build a Faux Fire -
Build a faux fire by placing brown painted paper towel tubes in a square around flashlights covered with red and yellow tissue paper.
4 Seeing Stars - Create stars with aluminum foil and cardstock cut into star shapes and hung from the walls by string.
5 Explore the Outdoors - Take your preschooler on a hike around the park or right in your backyard. Let them peek under rocks and ask them what kinds of bugs they see. How many different types of rocks can they find? Lots of camping fun preschool activities in the outdoors!

Then make a fishing rod from a long stick and a piece of string and tie on a magnet to the string's end. Have your preschooler go fishing over the back a couch or large piece of cardboard. This can easily be one of your best camping preschool activities!
