Firework art -

4th of July Preschool Activities
What would the 4th of July be without fireworks? Have the children drop a variety of colored paint splats onto black construction or craft paper. Using a craft stick or a paint brush, swirl or burst the paint out away from the middle of the splat, overlapping the various colors then let dry. Once dry add glue to your firework designs.

Follow by sprinkling with glitter on the wet glue and then you'll have it - Fireworks! Allow to dry.

Flag Puzzle -

Create a flag puzzle by giving the children a picture of the American flag and having them cut it into pieces. Once they are finished have them mix the pieces up and then put the flag together again.

4th of July Crowns -

4th of July Preschool Activities
4th of July Crowns are super fun and easy to make. You'll start with red paint, red, white and blue craft or construction paper, scissors, glue and some star stickers. Cut stars out of all colors of the construction paper ahead of time.

Give every child a 2 inch wide white band made of the paper ensuring that it is long enough to fit a child's head. Help the children glue paper stars onto the band, as many as they want.

They can also jazz it up by adding a few red, white and blue star stickers. Once the glue is dry, measure the crown for each child's head then staple. The kids will love their shiny and bright 4th of July Crowns.

Modern Art + Preschool Activities with USA theme -

Create a Stars and Stripes themed, modern art, picture with the kids. You'll need navy blue, red and white construction paper cut into 1 inch strips.

You'll also need silver star peel off stickers and glue. Layout all the pieces and let the kids get creative. Another fun art project is Stars & Stripes sponge painting.

All you'll need is red and navy blue paint, sponges cut into strips and star as well as white construction paper. Let the little ones make prints with the sponges on the white construction paper.

Everybody loves food and snacks. Let's try a 4th of July snack. Start with a strawberry shortcake, small cake or a slice of pound cake. Add fresh strawberries. Top strawberries with whip cream. Now add the blue - blueberries of course :-)

Store a Flag -

In honor of our soldiers, teach the children how to properly fold the American flag and how to store it.

Another Firecracker Idea -

4th of July Preschool Activities
Help the kids make their own fire crackers as part of your 4th of July Preschool Activities.

All you need are a toilet paper roll, yarn, paint, paper and rubber bands. You'll start by painting the toilet paper then letting it dry. Cut two circles out of the any color of paper but trying to match the toilet paper roll about 3 to 4 inches across.

Then the kids should decorate the circle anyway they want. Poke a little hole through the middle of one of the paper circles and then thread a 6 inch bit of the yarn through it.

The longer end of the yarn needs to hang on the decorated side of the paper, leaving around an 1 inch of yarn on the side that isn't decorated. Tape it down to hold in place.

When all the parts are dry, attach the circles to the toilet paper with the glue and let dry. This is another great July 4th Preschool Activities!
